Job Position : Exploration Systems Specialist (Requisition: F05-70001349)
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Development and maintenance of data management infrastructure, with particular emphasis on components pertaining to discovery, access and delivery of all Exploration data types to users and applications.
User/developer liaison for application design and implementation.
Documentation of data management workflows, procedures, standards and application specifications.
Management and development of spatial data and the spatial database including data modeling, data collection, data processing, metadata management and quality assurance.
Enhance connectivity of GIS data with applications.
On-demand GIS tasks including spatial analysis, mapping, data processing and data delivery.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Recent seismic data management experience with major oil or service companies.
Hands-on experience with modern seismic computing software and knowledge of all relevant data types is expected.
Experience with land static corrections and velocity model data management including the VSP data type.
Current working knowledge of UNIX.
Additional experience with seismic acquisition, and/or interpretation is also expected.
Familiarity with CogniSeis DISCO/FOCUS software running on PC Clusters would be useful.
Recent 3D volume data management experience is highly desirable.
