Responsibilities:

* Resolve customer’s problems/issues (commercial, technical, etc.);
* Understand customer’s needs; sell product/service to meet customer’s needs;
* Deliver customer value proposition (CVP).



Requirements:

* University graduate, preferably from an engineering background;
* Possess related sales or technical experiences;
* A team worker, good communication skills & enjoys sales;
* Willing to travel frequently and is fully mobile;
* Fluency in spoken and written English and Mandarin, and/or local dialect(s) is essential for this position;

Today's Geoscience technology in TOTAL is strongly committed to seismic imaging and hydrocarbon reservoir dynamic flow simulation. These techniques rely on a very high mathematical and numerical content which are implemented into the High Performance Computing hardware available on the market today using efficient algorithms, adapted modeling and optimized data processing tools.

The position is aimed at:

* Further expanding TOTAL numerical computation skills in view of maintaining its leading edge amongst the major oil companies in particular the sensitive domain of seismic imaging and reservoir flow simulation.
* Improving optimized numerical methodology based on recent scientific and technological advances in the computing domain, mainly in HPC.

Main activities

* To work in close collaboration with the TOTAL geoscientist community in order to be aware of the technical issues faced by the R&D and Operations teams.
* To identify the challenges specific to the HPC. To translate these into technology developments.
* To build and to optimize the algorithms required by seismic processing and reservoir flow simulation. To implement these, in particular into the HPC systems.
* To contribute with the integration of non proprietary codes into TOTAL suite of tools.
* To contribute with the industrialization of TOTAL R&D proprietary codes.
* At a later stage of their career, to pilot and coordinate the future scientific IT developments carried out by TOTAL in the geosciences domain.

Required skills

* PhD with a significant level of applied mathematics and scientific computation
* Experience in scientific computation applied to geosciences (Geophysics, Image processing, fluid mechanics, thermodynamic...) is appreciated.

Knowledge required

* Applied mathematics
* Equation solving numerical methods
* Strong knowledge of the HPC environment
* Scientific computation tools and technics (Algorithms, MPP programming languages, grid computing, ...)

Experience : Minimum 3 years

Essential Skills & Experience Required

* Strong seismic interpretation and mapping of exploration acreage, including regional reviews and prospect specific work. Interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic data.
* Supervision of processing of 2D and 3D seismic and of PreStack Depth Migration projects.
* Solicitation and evaluation of seismic acquisition and processing bids, on and offshore.
* Experience with dataroom evaluations to quickly assess prospectively and value for both exploratory and development prospects.
* Solid geological knowledge to integrate geophysical interpretation with geology.
* Knowledge of and experience with quantitative interpretation methods for lithology, porosity and hydrocarbon prediction. Self sufficient with a variety of PC and Unix work stations.
* Prepare concise technical summaries with recommendations for company action. Ability to collaborate with geologists and engineers to maximise sub-surface value.
