Development Geophysicist, South East England

Job Description
Our client is a major international operator. They require 2 Development Geophysicist with HPHT experience to work from their offices in South East England. Occasional travel will be required

The function is to provide geophysical support in the development and management of HPHT assets, These include the non-operated producing fields and the operated rigs where an appraisal program will support the exploration assets in the HPHT area.

The development geophysics function is responsible for:

* Evaluation of work plans and performance


* Planning and delivery of seismic acquisition, processing and interpretation projects, including the ongoing (non-operated) 4D and passive seismic
* Supporting well drilling activities by planning new wells and providing operational support
* Supporting the quantification of in-place volumes and thus reserves
* Finding and evaluating new reserves addition opportunities Quantifying and mitigating threats to production arising from geomechanical effects, in partnership with the other members of the UK technical team and domain specialists from various internal departments and external consultancies
* Providing development support to the exploration function

The successful candidate will have substantial responsibility within own technical discipline such as approaches to seismic programmes, structural interpretation, reservoir characterization and modelling, well locations and objectives, geomechanical studies definition and management.

Person / Experience Required

* Well rounded geophysicist with proficiency in structural interpretation - some experience of the UK CNS pre-Cretaceous, or analogous salt basin, would be an advantage.
* A working knowledge of other disciplines including geology, reservoir engineering and petrophysics.
* Some experience with geomechanics would be an advantage.
* Experience of building reservoir models in a multi-disciplinary team working with geophysicists and engineers.
* Working on history matching reservoir models in a producing field. Experience of well planning and design.
* Sound working proficiency in Geoframe/IESX. Experience with Petrel would be an advantage.

It is important the job holder is comfortable with working flexibly across all fields in the HPHT area together with the other geoscience staff, rather than securing ownership of any one of them. This will provide increased variety and allow better management of peak workloads.
