Jobs Description:
The function of the Risk Engineer is to proactively support production operations and safety case development across their sites. Responsibilities include:
• On-going development of world class risk management practices
• Hazard identification, risk assessment and quantification
• Participation and input to safety reviews and HAZOP studies for operating plant and specific projects
• On-going development of risk and consequence modeling for hydrocarbon production and processing plants
• Input into ‘Management of Change’ process by providing expert advice to engineering and process personnel and management on all aspects of risk reduction, mitigation and safety engineering related matters.
Core Requirements
To be successful in this role you will need:
• Teritary qualifications in Engineering
• A minimum of five (5) years industry experience in a major process based manufacturing industry (chemical or petrochemical), preferably in a risk or process engineering related role
• Excellent analytical aptitude and the ability to evaluate problems and assess their impact
• Ability to communicate well both verbal and written, to influence outcomes, and to make timely cost effective recommendations
• Strong self motivation along with well developed planning and organisating skills
