About the Department
The Reliability & Maintenance support team is a multi-disciplinary group responsible for supporting the safe and reliable operation of the process units. There is the need for a Reliability Engineer to identify and focus the organisation on key improvement opportunities as well as the development of pro-active asset care policies, and to provide day to day support to operations and maintenance teams.
Main Duties
The role of the Reliability Engineer is to drive the continual improvement of plant
reliability and performance to achieve sustainable, world class levels plant availability.
Proactive:
- Utilise reliability analysis tools to identify, prioritise and focus the organisation on
the most significant improvement opportunities. Lead cross functional asset teams
to unlock these opportunities
- Identify industry best practices and implement them for existing plant and new
designs
- Develop asset care policies in line with equipment criticality and to comply with
legislation and company standards
- Coach and mentor teams in reliability values and the use of tools
Reactive:
- Lead and participate in incident investigations
- Set up and lead equipment ‘Bad Actor’ resolution programmes
- Provide the business with trouble shooting and failure analysis support
Personal Qualities
A proven facilitator, you will have the ability to lead cross functional improvement teams
using reliability processes such as RCA, RCM and FMEA. You will be an extremely
proactive and resilient individual with the drive and enthusiasm to influence at all levels of
the organisation. The role demands well-developed teamwork skills, and the ability to
work under pressure with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Q ualifications & Skills
Professionally qualified with a Mechanical, Chemical, Instrument or Electrical Engineering
degree or equivalent and with Process / Manufacturing plant experience.
